Notes

A dance song in dialogue form between a mother and her daughter about marriage, with the refrain 'Larireto'. Jeannette refuses to hire herself out as a servant and prefers to marry, choosing a farmer husband and planning to keep a shop. Arbaud notes that this is the song sung by young Savoyards making their marmot dance, and links it to the tune 'La dot d'Auvergne' set to music by Loïsa Puget.
