The Provençal to English dictionary lists 32,168 Provençal words, each with its own page: grammatical category, gender, feminine form and variants. Every form is in Mistralian (Félibrean) spelling.
Grammatical abbreviations follow common usage: s. (noun), v. (verb), adj. (adjective), adv. (adverb), interj. (interjection), prep. (preposition), pron. (pronoun).
This dictionary is our own: we built it from three native Mistralian sources, with no OCR whatsoever, the Diciounàri by B. de La Tour d’Auvergne, Lou Pichot Tresor by Xavier de Fourvières and the dictionary by Banet. Every entry is arbitrated from those readings. Mistral’s Trésor dóu Felibrige was consulted for verification but set aside as a primary source for two reasons: no reliable digital edition exists, only noisy OCR; and it sometimes presents as current words that belong to other Oc dialects and remain rare in Provençal. The base was prepared and harmonised with the help of AI orchestration (cleaning, structuring, English translations).
